Network Engineer Education Requirements

Network technicians work largely independently on ICT projects. They are often employed in SMEs and bring their in-depth knowledge and experience in installing, configuring and supporting computers and small networks. You can configure LAN components and operate networks. They recognize current security risks in networks and take suitable measures to minimize risks.

Network technicians eloquently explain the characteristics of the various network protocols and products for LAN, WAN and wireless networks in their environment. They understand the functions and features of TCP / IP addressing and TCP / IP protocols. They classify network media as well as LAN and WAN topologies. They regulate network access and can configure a firewall. They lay and patch network cables and use network tools wisely. With their sound knowledge, they continuously optimize the networks and thus make a significant contribution to the company's success.

Network Engineer Education Requirements

Main focus: network basics, addressing and protocols, security and authentication, installation and implementation as well as administration, monitoring and troubleshooting.

Degree: Network technician (provider’s diploma).

Development Opportunities

Training courses such as network supporter with DIPLOMA / Network +, CompTIA Security +, CompTIA IT Fundamentals or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).

All of these further training courses provide the opportunity to prepare for the internationally recognized, certified CompTIA or CCNA degrees.
