The profession of a telecommunications engineer focuses on providing technical solutions in the transmission and reception of signals and the interconnection of networks for a company or organization.

Researching innovative products, getting updated on everything related to technological products and strengthening the ability to solve problems are some of the most important tasks of a telecommunications engineer .

The term "telecommunication" refers to communication at a distance , generally through the propagation of electromagnetic and optical waves. 

A telecommunications engineer is responsible for the design, research, and development of communications systems that are delivered via cable and satellite, mobile phones, radio waves, the Internet, and email.

They use a variety of equipment and means of transportation to design telecommunication network infrastructure. The most common used in today's cable telecommunications are coaxial cables, optical fibers, and twisted-pair cable .
